The ICT department hosted the annual ‘Hour of Code’ this week, with time set aside for junior classes to engage in coding their own version of the well-known computer game ‘Flappy Bird’.
The Hour of Code is a worldwide movement that aims to introduce millions of students to computer science through one-hour coding activities.
Through Hour of Code, the aim is to demystify coding and show that anyone can learn the basics, inspiring future interest in computer science.
Upon completion of the activity, pupils attained a certificate of completion and were able to transfer a copy of their completed game onto their smart phone using QR code technology, so they could take it home and share with family and friends. A productive hour to say the least!
Well done all!
