Year 11 and 12 Creative Arts and Digital Technology pupils had the opportunity to attend a special event run by the University of Ulster in partnership with Future Screens. The event entitled “Understanding Virtual Production (VP) & its Opportunities” allowed pupils to hear from leading experts in the Creative Industries. The programme was delivered by Future Screens NI in partnership with the StoryFutures Academy (The UK’s National Centre for Immersive Storytelling) and with mentorship by world leading companies Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) and Epic Games. The panel discussed the critical factors businesses should consider when making the leap into Virtual Production and explores the essential knowledge, understanding and skills development needed to do this successfully.
This opportunity, hosted by the Director of Future Screens NI, Professor Paul Moore, encouraged pupils to think about where Creative Arts could take them in the future. As well as this, we were encouraged to explore innovative and creative careers and what the Virtual Production industry might look like going forward.
Our pupils, accompanied by their teacher Miss Minihan, had the opportunity to ask leading experts in the field of the arts questions and discuss opportunities available for creative people who might take steps into this innovative industry.
