Our Year 12 Digital Technology Students escape from school for the day to develop their ICT Skills.
Our Year 12 Digital technology pupils spent an excellent day in Belfast last week learning about how escape rooms are developed and managed. This timely visit allowed the pupils to carry out essential research and gain some vital hands-on experience which they will be able to incorporate into their GCSE studies.
The pupils were accompanied by their teachers, Mrs Dallat and Mr McDaid, to the superb ‘Timescape’ Escape Rooms Belfast.
Mr Peter McDaid, Head of ICT, explained, “This visit will aid pupils in the controlled assessment tasks of designing and producing a multimedia website and database, for a mythical Escape Room company, based in N. Ireland.
The experience will assist in our pupils’ understanding of the requirements for such as company, for their controlled assessment tasks of multimedia development and database development, this academic year. The pupils have taken away from this day a much greater understanding of the challenges involved in developing and maintaining an Escape Room”.
The school would like to thank Justin, Gretch, Dan and Cat for looking after us all so well on the day and for the vital insights they helped our pupils take away from their visit. Our pupils really enjoyed the guided tour of the facilities and the follow up Q&A session, afterwards. We look forward to seeing how the visit will benefit the students in their work later this year.
