Year 11 CC&G Digital Youth Programme 21

{module_photogallery,37158} Congratulations to our Yr11 digital entrepreneurs who represented Dominican College in the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council Digital Youth Programme earlier this year, delivered by Young Enterprise NI. The girls submission was an innovative virtual tourism themed mobile app design that was built around the concept of linked eye-wear that presented the user with embedded information, guidance and suggestions about their locale whilst looking at a tourist attraction. The ‘specTARGular’ virtual tourism app design was a daring design prototype that encapsulated hardware and software through the mobile device and wearable technology connected via Bluetooth. Although they did not win the final event – which was judged virtually, due to COVID restrictions – the girls should be very proud of themselves as their idea was a cutting-edge example of how technology is migrating from handheld to wearable technology.
