Applications for Free School Meals & Uniform Allowance Now Open for 2026/27
Parents and carers are advised that applications for Free School Meals and Uniform Allowance for the 2026/27 academic year are now open through EA Connect.
Families who believe they may be eligible are encouraged to apply as early as possible and before 31 July 2026 to help ensure support is in place for the start of the new school year.
Please note that all applicants must apply each year, including families whose children currently receive Free School Meals and Uniform Allowance.
Important Information for Applicants
- Applications must be submitted through EA Connect.
- Parents/carers who do not already have an EA Connect account will need to create one before applying.
- All eligible children for whom you have parental responsibility should be included on your application.
- If your child is awaiting examination results and you are unsure which school they will attend, include the school they are most likely to attend and update the Education Authority if this changes.
- Ensure all required supporting documentation is uploaded when submitting your application.
Supporting Documentation
Applicants receiving:
- Income Related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
- Guarantee Element of State Pension Credit
will need to provide a Proof of Benefit Letter as part of their application.
Families receiving Universal Credit do not require a Proof of Benefit Letter but must upload evidence of their Universal Credit entitlement.
Special Educational Needs
Children with a Statement of Special Educational Needs (SEN) who require a medically prescribed special diet may also be entitled to Free School Meals support.
