ICT/Digital Technology

The ICT/Digital Technology Department aims to equip pupils with essential digital skills, foster creativity through technology, and prepare them for the demands of a digital future. The curriculum is designed to nurture cross-curricular competencies in ICT, introduce the principles of Computing and Digital Literacy, and lay a solid foundation for progression into GCSE and A-Level courses.  The department is committed to ensuring that pupils develop the knowledge and skills required to excel in the ever-evolving technological landscape while inspiring curiosity and innovation.

KS3

KS3 aim is to pupils’ general cross-curricular skills in ICT; to introduce aspects of Computing and Digital Literacy; and to prepare pupils for KS4 – GCSE DTEC and OCN IT.

Year 8 – General housekeeping (Office 365 cloud, files, folders, email, Google Classroom), Office Basics (word-processing and spreadsheets, presentations), E-Safety, Introduction to programming with Kodu, Hour of Code.

Year 9 – Introduction to graphics (Canva), Video Editing, Audio Editing, Mobile App Development with AppShed.

Year 10 – Introduction to web development, IT Theory, introduction to databases, Programming with Python
